OH. MY. WORD! If you don't follow Grumpernia's Blog you should. Really. The things she knits are just amazing!
I'd been following the progress of the socks she's been working on anxiously awaiting to see the final product. Checking her blog compulsively for any sort of update. Waiting.... waiting... waiting. Then this morning I check thinking there will be no update, and there they were in all their glory.
These socks are the most amazing thing ever. After seeing all the wonderful socks and shawls she's created, I've been longing to make my own socks and shawls. But the socks... the ones she just completed? I'm in love! I want them, need them, must have them! I've wanted to learn Fair Isle and this is all the reason to learn it. I'm scared of this pattern, though. Winging it with knitting? Terrified. Some things I can do that with... like felting bags or a scarf or something where you don't really NEED a pattern.... but this? These socks? Scary man. They're Fair Isle! I've never done Fair Isle. That alone is scary... but doing a sock with only guidelines? Whoa. I'm in complete envy.
